Why Babya can stay free
Babya has no servers to pay for. Your data lives on your phone, so there's no monthly bill we'd need to pass on to you. That's why logging will never go behind a subscription.
The one thing that will cost money is the optional Family pack, because syncing two phones does need a server. It's a one-time $14.99, not a subscription, and everyone who doesn't need it pays nothing.
Questions from people who switched
Do I need to pay Nara to get my data out?
No. Nara's own FAQ says that after the free trial you can still view and export your existing data. You just can't log anything new. Export first, and you can decide about Nara afterwards.
Will I lose anything?
Your baby's history comes across: feeds, nappies, sleep, pumping, growth, temperatures, routines and firsts. What doesn't come across is anything outside the baby log, like Nara's pregnancy and parent-wellness entries, because Babya doesn't track those.
Can my partner log on their phone?
Not yet. Today Babya lives on one iPhone. Sync between two phones, iPhone and Android, is coming as the Family pack: $14.99, once. If you and your partner both log every night, that's worth knowing before you switch.
What happens to my data in Nara?
Nothing changes on Nara's side. Importing only reads the file you exported. If you want your data removed from Nara, you'd ask Nara to delete your account.
Is my data safe in Babya?
It never leaves your phone: no account, no upload, no analytics. There's no Babya server that could be breached, because there's no Babya server. The privacy policy has the detail.
